Genetically modified foods

This theory originates from the idea that the evidence that proves genetically modified foods are safe to consume was created. Basically the accusers are saying that genetically modified foods are not safe to consume and any evidence that says they are is fake. Funny thing about this entire conspiracy is that the accusers are just accusing others without any evidence themselves. Even though these accusers may not have very much evidence, their reasons they have for their concern are still very valid. I believe this conspiracy exist only because of these concerns. One of the main concerns is that they believe that genetically modified foods aren’t safe simply because these products haven’t been around long enough for anyone to know their long term side effects.

I can agree with them when it comes to an argument like this because it is true, these products haven’t been around long enough for anyone to know their long term side effects. However, the only way to learn their long term side effects on people is for people to use them over a long period of time as dumb as it sounds. The reason that the idea of genetically modified foods hasn’t been scrapped is because these foods hold so much potential. They can give us more vitamins and minerals than ordinary food, they can yield more fruits than ordinary food and they can ward off insects and other would be plant killers. This in turn makes farming these foods much more efficient than farming ordinary crops. It’s for these reasons that I think genetically modified foods are promising however I feel like scientist need a much better understanding of genetic science before they can truly say that these products are safe.

It is also for this reason that I believe this conspiracy exists, I think it was created to turn people away from a promising field as the accusers are scared of change and the unknown. It makes me think of how some Americans are stocking up on incandescent light bulbs because the production of them is being stopped and they are afraid of the transition for reasons I don’t know. If all organic food production were to be stopped I can see people stocking on organic foods as well. That’s why I think this conspiracy was a fabrication to scare people.
