The Elusive Bigfoot

He’s big, he’s hairy and his feet dwarf clown shoes; he’s someone people want to see up close but when they do they regret it. I’m of course talking about Bigfoot. Bigfoot is one of the most popular legends in North America; but tales of a hairy, large humanoid is not native to North America.

A temperate and tropical Bigfoot compared to a human.
In Canada, we call it Sasquatch, in the United States it’s called Bigfoot, in the Himalayas it’s the Yeti and in Australia the Yowie. All of these “creatures” are strikingly similar despite the fact that they hail from all corners of the globe. Reports consist of a large creature standing upright at about two to three meters tall with dark brown or dark red hair. His feet have been found to be at most two feet long and eight inches wide.

Even though there are thousands of reports of these creatures all around the world there has never actually been any physical proof such as a captured or killed beast. The most proof that is usually presented is that someone saw something in the distance or that they found a footprint but after all these years you would think some evidence would have turned up by now. It also seems a bit ridiculous that with all the technology and resources that we have today, every picture of a Bigfoot seems to have been photographed by a potato or a toaster. Things like that make me question the veracity of these stories and the legitimacy of all the claims that Bigfoot exists.

Another reason why the odds of Bigfoot existing is very low is due to the population; for there to be as many accounts of Bigfoot as there is across the world, the population would have to be rather significant which would mean that these sightings would not be as rare as they appear to be. With all this said I don’t think Bigfoot is real, as much as the kid inside me would want to believe he is, as there is just not enough proof but maybe one day I’ll be proven wrong. As the world gets smaller every day and more of its secrets are revealed – then and maybe then will we know if Bigfoot is the product of human creativity or if he is indeed lurking out there in the shadows trying to evade all efforts to expose his existence.

  1. Interesting, I also agree with you that Bigfoot most likely doesn't exist. It's possible it is some sort of rare species or gorilla but not the Bigfoot that most people want it to be. I wonder though what all these people are seeing and why there have been so many claims. It makes you think what's really out there.

  2. You make a very good point there. I believe that most of the people but not all, that say that they have seen Bigfoot are only in it for themselves. They say these things only to their names out there, to get on television for there ten minutes of glory. In other cases people might not have known what they saw and they might have felt pressured into saying it was our big furry friend.

  3. Very interesting topic Michael! To be honest, I am very excited to read your posts of many different conspiracies that have been told for many years. I also do not believe in Big Foot, however, other conspiracies can really change a person's mindset on certain events, theories or things. One of my favorite conspiracy theory is the moon landing theory between Russia and the US. If you have time, come check out my blog!

  4. I have seen many television shows that try to prove the existence of big foot, but they always come up blank in the end. I believe that it's a myth and that he doesn't exist and that people are simply seeing a bear or something likewise in the distance. But how does that explain the footprints that have been discovered? There is a part of me that thinks that maybe it could be true, but how could this one creature be all around the world, without someone getting some real concrete evidence? It's very interesting..

  5. Great topic. I agree with you. How could it exist for all this time with no solid evidence proving it?

Don't forget to give us your sources, (otherwise it's plagiarism) and try to give us a tad more of your opinion. Why are you interested in this story and all the other conspiracy stories? If they are real, how do you think they manage to hide from us so effectively?
